MMEA Annual Fundraising Drive The MMEA Foundation was established in late 1997 with an initial contribution of $78,000, and has since grown to over $125,000 through the generosity of our members, retirees and affiliated organizations. The Foundation provided over $45,000 in grant money for music education professional development and advocacy in the past 15 years. In the fall of 2011, MMEA initiated an annual Fundraising Drive with the hope of reaching past and present MMEA members, businesses and other music organizations to help provide the highest quality opportunities available to Minnesota students and educators. In this challenging time of budget crisis and the back to basics movement, we must take thoughtful, bold steps to invest in our children’s future. The help of monetary donations ensure that more students are able to receive scholarship funding for All-State, and that other MMEA programs and projects can continue to function at their highest level.
