The Minnesota Music Educators Association's mission is to provide high-quality music education for every student in Minnesota. To achieve this mission, MMEA provides various resources for its 2,000+ members, including an annual in-service conference and a quarterly magazine, Interval. The MMEA sponsors all-state band, choirs, orchestras, and jazz ensembles, and provides opportunities for its members students to enrich their musical experiences through elementary and junior high festivals. In addition, MMEA sponsors an annual retreat for collegiate chapter members, supports the Arts Education Consortium of Minnesota, and advocates for music education through a variety of efforts. Equal Access ~ Changing Classrooms Grants Available! MMEA will provide mini-grants for the 2008-2009 school year for teaching artists to address culturally diverse classrooms around the state. Learn more about the Equal Access ~ Changing Classrooms program. Applications must be postmarked no later than May 10, 2008. Honor a Colleague - Award Nominations 2009 MMEA Midwinter Clinic Applications Due date for performing groups and informances - May 10th. 2008-09 All State Student Registration Students selected to the 2008-09 All State ensembles need to turn in all information to their high school director no later than Wednesday, May 14th.
