Equal Access ~ Changing Classrooms Grants Awarded

MMEA has awarded grants to four school districts for the 2008-2009 school year. The music, dance, folklore and culture of the Caribbean, Central America, West Africa and East Africa were selected by music educators in those schools as important in their community. The Equal Access ~ Changing Classrooms program strives to provide culturally relevant music education to students, while providing skills, tools and resources to music educators to help them better serve the changing classroom.

The application process for the 2009-2010 school year will be announced next fall. More information about the Equal Access program is available here.
