2010 ALL-STATE ETUDES: BRASS & WOODWINDS ( PDF)
MMEA plans to work with the composer to modify these etudes to lessen difficulty and will have modified etudes for 2011 and 2012 auditions.
These etudes were commissioned by MMEA for the Minnesota All State auditions. If you would like to use these etudes for another organization, please contact the composer, Tim Mahr.

2010 ALL-STATE SCALES: STRING AUDITIONS ( PDF)
These scales will be used for the 2010 and future auditions. A subset of scales will be posted approximately 2-4 weeks prior to auditions.
Scales for 2010 All-State auditions are listed below
Violin 2010: G major, e minor, B flat major, chromatic
Viola 2010: C Major, a minor, E flat major, chromatic
Cello 2010: C Major, a minor, E flat major, chromatic
Double Bass 2010: G major, e minor, F major, chromatic
2010 ALL-STATE EXCERPTS: STRING AUDITIONS ( PDF)
Students will be judged on accuracy (pitch, rhythm, tempo, articulation, dynamics, style for the period and so forth). Bowings and fingerings in the parts are suggested and may be modified.
For 2010 auditions, we are using Set A of the excerpts. These are on a three year rotation. Violin

2010 ALL-STATE: JAZZ ENSEMBLE ETUDES ( PDF)
The etudes posted are dated 2004. This is the CORRECT set of etudes, and students can begin working on these. We are working with a copyist to provide cleaner copies, but the etudes themselves will not change.
