| MMEA Awards
MMEA sponsors awards to recognize outstanding music educators. Your
participation through nominating your colleagues and teachers is encouraged.
Congratulations to MMEA's 2010-2011 award winners:
Tom Haugen (Hall of Fame), and William Henry, Robert Ouren, Michael Walsh, and William Webb (Educators of the Year).

Hall of Fame Awards (download a nomination

For significant career contributions to music education in Minnesota.
Up to six awards per year may be given.
Requirements:
1. Current member of MMEA-MENC, unless deceased.
2. Service as an active music educator or administrator in music education
in a Minnesota public or private school or institution of higher learning
for a period of not less than ten years.
3. Significant contributions to the music education profession in Minnesota.
All nomination materials must be submitted by June 1st.
Music Educator of the Year (download a nomination
form)
For demonstrated excellence in music teaching and learning. Up to four
awards per year may be given.
Requirements:
1. Current member of MMEA-MENC.
2. Actively teaching at the time of the award.
3. Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience.
4. Provided service to the music education profession outside of his/her school and district.
All nomination materials must be submitted by June 1st.
